Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) is a highly accurate system capable of reading vehicle number plates without human intervention
Through the use of high-speed image capture with supporting illumination, detection of characters within the images provided, verification of the character sequences as being those from a vehicle license plate, character recognition to convert image to text; so ending up with a set of metadata that identifies an image containing a vehicle license plate and the associated decoded text of that plate.

How does LPR car parking system work?

1. At the Entrance

A vehicle goes in front of the entrance, just before the barrier. The camera automatically recognizes and records the number of plates, dates, and times of entry at the software. The entrance barrier rises allowing the driver access to the car park. The barrier falls down automatically once a vehicle passes.

2. At Exit

A vehicle stops at the exit, just before the barrier. The camera automatically recognizes the plate, then the software will atomically account for the parking fee and show on the LED display, the driver paid the parking fee, The exit barrier rises, allowing the driver to leave the parking lot. The barriers are down automatically once a vehicle passes.
